The standard glue for 60″ x 60″ is urea formaldehyde which is clear in color. Waterproof Phenolic glue is standard for 48″ x 96”.

Grain direction is the first dimension. Therefore a 60″ x 50″ panel has a 60″ grain length.

Grade B:

Single piece veneer of light and uniform colour. A few small pin knots and some brown streaks are allowed. Veneer of this grade is intended for natural finishes. Patches are not allowed. The majority of Grade B veneers are the equivalent of the American “white birch” faces.

Grade BB:

Single piece face has light and uniform colour. A few sound tight knots and pin holes are permitted. Open knots and defects are replaced with small oval or round veneer patches before gluing. The patches are selected to closely match the background colour.

Grade CP

Single piece face is very close to Grade BB in quality. Thin splits are allowed. The oval or round patch may have a different colour from the background.

Grade C:

Open defects such as open knots and veneer splits are allowed. Sanding is not required. Recommended for the building of containers and dust panels; can be used for crating and in manufacturing, where construction and strength are more important than the appearance.

Side with chromatic variations (provided that these are not too marked) that may remain visible.

ALLOWED: One edge joint every meter of length or fraction greater than 50 cm.
Splits and cracks of a length not greater than 100 mm and of a width not greater than 3 mm in

the proportion of one for every meter of width long as they are stopped; some pin knots.

GRADE B:

Side with natural chromatic variations provided that the mechanical properties of the

panel are not reduced. Side to be covered, painted or varnished with pigments.

and 5 mm in width, with no more than 3 per meter of width or fraction greater than 50 cm, provided they are filled; pin knots with any limitation.

Sound knots with a diameter not exceeding 25 mm, with no more than 3 per square meter.

GRADE BB:

Side generally to be immediately covered or painted, with tolerance of open blemishes. On request, all the open blemishes may be filled.

ALLOWED: All chromatic variations. Edge joints without any limitation; spits and cracks of a length not greater than 500 mm and not wider than 200 mm without any limitation.

Sound knots without any limitation on diameter and number.
Open knots with a diameter not exceeding 25 mm. With no more than 5 per square meter.

GRADE C:

Side for very common uses (for example, packing), with tolerances of open blemishes.

ALLOWED: All chromatic variations.

Edge joints without any limitation.

All natural blemishes or production flaws without limitation, provided that the solidity of the panel is not jeopardized.

Special low formaldehyde glue is used in production resulting in a E-1 classification.

EUROFORMlogo

In the industry of concrete forming, Euro Form from NAPC has proudly become the standard by which other form panels are judged. Manufactured with 1.4mm rotary-cut birch veneers, even the thinnest panels provide uncommon strength with a smooth surface.

Euro Form is bonded with a phenolic resin adhesive which is weather and boil proof. The formaldehyde glue emissions are classified as E-1, the lowest available in the industry. Specify Euro Form to assure high-performance results.
